Travis’ research explores the developmental trajectory of national identity by examining children’s narrative representations of history. Travis is particularly interested in the affective dimensions of national identity as well as the moral judgments contained in children’s written and verbal accounts of the historical past (e.g., freedom, inequality, progress).
